As an armed officer, you may respond to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate de-escalation tactics. Armed Security Officers may, on rare occasions, need to use force up to and including an armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol. Additionally, you will assist in preserving order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises; control access to areas of the facility through the admittance process; responsive in all situations; monitors entrances and exits and acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
Operations and standard operating procedures of an Armed Security Officer and a Security Department; principles of crime prevention and suppression; modern security methods and procedures, including patrol, crime prevention, traffic control, and investigation; applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, and regulations, including court decisions; technical aspects of security crime prevention activities, including search and seizure, and care and custody of persons and property; care, maintenance and operation of a variety of security radio and personal equipment; methods and techniques of scheduling work assignments; security officer procedures, practices, and equipment; basic principles of CCTV systems, including a computer and applicable software; methods and techniques for record keeping and report preparation and writing; proper English, spelling, and grammar; occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
Skills to:
Safely and effectively operate a variety of security equipment, firearms, and vehicles; operate an office computer and a variety of word processing and software applications: operate CCTV and other technology for the prevention and detection of criminal activity or unsafe conditions.

Position Overview:
An Armed Security Officer is expected to be highly professional in appearance and demeanor while providing vigilant protection of personnel, property, and assets throughout our luxury residential, commercial, and motorsports campus. This armed position is under the direct supervision of the Security Operations Manager and performs a variety of security-related duties. In this position, you will observe and report activities and incidents at assigned locations, providing for the security and safety of property, visitors, and personnel.As an armed officer, you may respond to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate de-escalation tactics. Supervision Received/Exercised
Armed Security Officers report to and receive supervision from the Security Operations Manager. An Armed Security Officer generally does not supervise other employees.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to the following)
- Patrol assigned areas on foot, bicycle, in a utility vehicle, or in a patrol vehicle
- Perform crime suppression and prevention activities
- Maintain a professional and highly visible security presence to ensure community confidence and deterrence
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Control access to buildings, gates, paddock areas, and event venues
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, reporting anomalies and taking appropriate action
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, incidents, or emergencies including medical or fire-related
- Protects evidence or scenes of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security/law enforcement investigations
- Enforce Flatrock Motorclub rules and regulations with professionalism and discretion
- Complete detailed incident and activity reports
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS as needed
- Maintain firearms proficiency and complete required defensive tactics and de-escalation training
- Follow use of force protocols in accordance with Tennessee law and internal policy
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 23 years old
- Must have two years of Armed Security Officer, Law Enforcement, or Military experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred
- Must possess an active Tennessee Armed Security Guard License issued by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (per T.C.A. §62-35-118)
- Includes successful completion of:
- 16 hours of basic training
- 8 hours of firearms training
- Annual in-service firearms qualification - Must hold or obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of hire
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening
- Must maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license and clean driving history
- Strong communication, observation, and report writing skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress or emergency situations
- Must be physically able to walk and stand for extended periods and lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Physical, Mental and Environmental Working Conditions
- Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, running, jumping, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- The position also requires both near and far vision and acute hearing.
- Additionally, incumbents may work outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold.
- The position entails working in hazardous situations, and may involve abusive persons, potential physical violence, and the potential risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens in the performance of public safety duties.
- The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to drive motorized vehicles, operate a variety of public safety equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions, and often work with constant interruptions; work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.
- Will require wearing a uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) during certain duties.
